About Neurocognition
Most of us awaken each day planning our to-do list and daily work or recreation, and we give little thought to how we will accomplish these tasks. In addition to our physical health and abilities, we typically rely on our skills in language, memory, planning, organization, attention, processing speed, and spatial orientation to always be sharp and available.
Blue Cat is there when "typical" is just not happening for you or a loved one. We offer neuropsychological evaluation, a science-based assessment of cognitive skills and abilities such as those above. We seek to answer questions about brain-based behavior.
It does not stop there, however. We offer recommendations and referrals so that care or support can be coordinated with your treating medical doctors, family, caregivers, educational providers, and employers, as needed.
In addition, we offer intervention services in targeted cognitive rehabilitation, behavioral therapy, or psychotherapy to assist in the best possible recovery of your function.
Why Blue Cat?
Our objective is to answer your questions and concerns about how your brain is "working." Then, we look at ways that you can improve those functions to optimize your day-to-day life.
At Blue Cat, we are committed to:
Respect for your dignity. You are always in charge of your assessment and treatment choices. We will always keep you informed as an active partner in the process.
Confidentiality. We will not reveal any information to anyone unless requested in writing by you.* This includes employers, family members, and the government.
Flexibility. We will work to meet you where it is most convenient for you.
We are flexible with location*, mode of testing, differing abilities, and making appointments outside of typical office hours.
Cost management. Like many medical procedures, neuropsychological assessment requires a large investment of time and money, and only some of that is reimbursed by insurance. We seek to provide only the services that you need.
We give a reasonable estimate of your total cost before administering services. We will talk to you throughout the process so that you can make informed decisions.
Making it all worth the effort. It is your hard work that goes into the assessment, and our best effort that goes into making interpretations and recommendations. When finished, we strive to offer some relief and a helpful plan for the future.
